Don t scrub the stain only lightly dab it to avoid forcing the stain further into the carpet. This will soften the ink. Use a white cloth or towel to avoid transferring colour onto the carpet. Again repeat this process until the stain is removed entirely.

Soak up any extra moisture. Buy two cans of cheap lacquer hair spray you may need this much depending on how quickly the stain disappears. The alcohol will penetrate the stain but it can also go deeper and harm the padding under the carpet if you are not careful. Work from the outside towards the centre of the stain so as not to spread the ink around.

Simply saturate a cotton ball in acetone and dab it on the stain on the carpet. A dry stain will need to be soaked in denatured alcohol for at least five minutes. Dab the cloth on the ink stain. Spray the hairspray onto the ink stain.

This is another simple method to remove permanent ink from the carpet as acetone works at dissolving the ink. Choosing the most effective cleaning method largely depends on the type of ink water based permanent and so on the size of the stain and the material from which your carpet is made wool being a particularly delicate example. Do not pour too much alcohol on the stain. If you have natural fiber carpet follow these steps to remove the ink stain.

Keep dabbing the stain until it disappears. Now follow the same steps as for the water based inks to get rid of harsh ammonia residue then dry with a fresh cloth. Use paper towels or a dry clean cloth. No matter how ink ends up on your carpet you ll want to deal with the ensuing stain as quickly and effectively as possible.

The acetone will gradually dissolve the ink and it will be absorbed in the cotton ball. Apply enough to cover the stain and allow it to soak down about half an inch.
