Even professional carpet cleaners with the most powerful equipment might not get rid of the baking soda disaster in your carpets. Simply sprinkle a liberal amount of baking soda over your wet carpet and allow it to sit for at least half an hour. Baking soda works wonders when it comes to lifting and removing trapped moisture. You can do this using a shop vac and dry towels as we explained above. Get the vac deep into the fibers to extract water from the pad as well.

Once you ve achieved a good result using the shop vac get your hands on some baking soda. Do not over saturate the odor area by pouring too much a little goes a long way. After you ve covered the carpet with baking soda scrub it into the carpet fibers using a dry sponge. By spreading baking soda all over the stain you will ensure perfect cleaning of the carpet.
